Mr Dorward is the current CEO of Altara Group, a national recruitment, employment services and consulting organisation that specialises in customer-facing roles in the aviation and hospitality sectors.
Mr Dorward will commence with Sharp Airlines in March 2023, subject to regulatory approval from CASA.
“Alistair brings a wealth of aviation experience, with over 30 years in a variety of operational management and consulting roles,” states Mr Sharp.
Mr Dorward commented that he is excited to be joining a highly professional and well-established airline. He is looking forward to his new responsibilities in the management and oversight of Sharp Airlines, along with implementing the company’s short- and long-term business strategies, established in conjunction with its Directors and shareholders.
Current CEO, Dallas Hay, will retire after 14 years with Sharp Airlines. The Directors and shareholders would like to thank Mr Hay for his guidance and advocacy during his tenure. Mr Hay will remain active with the company as an advisor to the Board.
Australian-owned Sharp Airlines operates 21 Metroliner aircraft, servicing 5 states in the Airline, Freight and FIFO market, with bases in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne (Essendon) and Perth. The airline carries over 100,000 passengers and 1.5 million kilograms of freight per annum across Australia. Now in its 33rd year of operation, Sharp Airlines continues to expand and seek new opportunities for growth.
