Sharp Airlines is pleased to announce the commencement of three return services per week between Hobart and King Island, and Hobart and Flinders Island, commencing on 30 September.
CEO of Sharp Airlines, Dallas Hay, said that the airline has worked with the State Government to provide these services on an initial four-month trial basis.
Mr Hay was confident that the new service would be very well supported to ensure its ongoing viability and form an integral part of intrastate air services.
'Sharp Airlines is proud to be working with the State Government in supporting them to provide air services between our capital city and the Bass Strait Islands, which will not only benefit the island communities but Tasmanians generally', said Mr Hay.
These new services will allow Hobartians to once again travel 'overseas' while staying within Tasmanian borders, and allow island residents to travel directly to our capital city.
Bookings can be made directly through Sharp Airlines or through TasVacations for holiday packages.
